Why Have I Chosen These Trimmers?

First reason I have picked the trimmers listed on this page is of course the ability to groom body hair, trim and style a beard and limited ability to cut hair .

The second reason is this: I have bought and tested each of them.

This way I can say something meaningful about each model.

And yes, it is only my opinion, so you don’t have to agree with what I say.

All of us are special and original, so obviously we have different needs and expectations.

As for multi-groomers, there are so many other trimmers that work well, so my selection is limited here.

As time goes by I will buy and test more trimmers, so you can check this list in the future.

Just in case you will be looking for a new trimmer.

What To Look For When Choosing The Right Multi-groomer?

Cutting Hair?

Vast majority of multi purpose trimmers are not so good at cutting hair.

Some of them have only one, quite narrow blade that does not cut hair efficiently.

You have to repeat the passes to get an even cut.

Fortunately there are models that come with separate and wider blades for cutting hair.

You’ll find several of them on this page.

Trimming Longer Beard?

You know your needs as long as the beard upkeep is concerned.

If you wear a longer beard (e.g. 25 mm or longer), you will be focusing more on quality blades. You only need a few basic comb guards.

It is because trimming and shaping long beards is made free hand, so you’re not focusing on the guards too much.

Stubble Or A Short Beard?

If this is your style, then you will want to pay attention to comb guards and length settings.

Shorter beard requires more precise length settings.

Some sets come with several fixed guards, others bring adjustable comb.

From a practical standpoint, we are looking for guards that sit firmly on the blade and do not bend too much under the pressure.

Using Trimmer In The Shower?

If you are used to using the trimmer wet or in the shower, it is crucial to pick a model that is 100% waterproof.

If you want to be sure, pick the trimmer with a IPX7 grade of water-resistance.

Some models come with a IPX5 grade.

This is ok for rinsing the trimmer under the tap, but they don’t guarantee full water-resistance if such trimmer would be used in the shower for a longer period of time.

Do You Actually Need A Multi-Groomer?

Some of us will not mind having several appliances for grooming.

You can have your hair clippers, beard trimmer and a separate body groomer.

This way each tool is specialized and does its job much more efficiently than a multi purpose tool.

You choose.
