For men who already own a trimmer

You don’t need a new trimmer. You need a routine.

Cover of Keep It Tight: My 15 mm Week by Stanley at GroomTest, showing the author’s short beard

A better trimmer won’t tell you what to do on Wednesday.

The guide names the tools I use but doesn’t require those models. Bring a suitable trimmer and it covers the order, the edges and the weekly rhythm.

The guide is written for a beard in this 10–20 mm range, reset to about 15 mm.

What the guide covers

Your trimmer, my routine

Worked settings: 15 mm for the beard, 10 mm for the mustache.

What stays on the sink

The combing, brushing and cheek-and-neck cleanup tools I keep, explained.

Tool-care notes

Short notes on looking after the gear you already have.

Real pages from the PDF

Page 10 of Keep It Tight: trimming a stray beard hair safely, using a 10 mm guard if you are new to it
Page 10. Cut the flyaway, not the beard.

A good fit if you…

  • wear a short beard around 10–20 mm
  • prefer clear settings and a weekly plan to improvising
  • want photos of the actual technique
  • own a trimmer with 15 mm and 10 mm settings

Probably not for you if you…

  • want a long-beard growth guide or a clean-shave routine
  • want detailed cheek-line geometry or a barbering course
  • want growth treatments, medical advice or guaranteed results
  • want a trimmer comparison or shopping catalogue

Who wrote it

I test men’s grooming hardware and write from the tools on my own sink. Keep It Tight is the week I actually run, not a roundup of other people’s advice.

Straight answers

What exactly do I get?

A 20-page PDF: the morning routine, a printable weekly mirror plan, original technique photographs, the Saturday reset, optional sideburn work, tool-care notes and file information. It is not a printed book or a video course.

Is it only for a 15 mm beard?

It comes from my own 10–20 mm beard, which I usually reset to about 15 mm. The worked settings are 15 mm for the beard and 10 mm for the mustache. It is not a separate worked routine for every length.

Do I need a particular trimmer?

No. Use a suitable trimmer with genuine 15 mm and 10 mm settings.

Does the whole routine take five minutes?

No. The 3–5 minutes applies to the workday morning loop. Cheek-and-neck cleanup and the Saturday reset are separate jobs.

What about refunds or a bad file?

Check the refund policy on the Gumroad product page before you buy. A corrupt download or missing pages gets a replacement file or a refund. Questions: stanley@groomtest.com.

Use the trimmer you have. Add the routine.
