Rowenta Forever Sharp TN6030 | My Short Review

Rowenta Forever Sharp TN6030
After several uses I rate the Rowenta Forever Sharp TN6030 at 4,3 out of 5 stars.
What I like:
- Shaving quality. What I admire in this hybrid trimmer/shaver is the quality of shave I was able to get on my medium coarse beard. Maybe a slightly less smooth shave I have achieved with Philips OneBlade, but really good.
- Blade durability. The big advantage of the Rowenta Forever Sharp trimmers over Philips OneBlade shavers is the blade durability. In Rowenta Forever Sharp the blade will last for several years if you remember to lubricate them regularly.
- Safe shave. I have quite sensitive skin and razor cuts and irritation was always my problem during shaving. This shaver allows me to get a pretty smooth shave without skin irritation or cuts.
Not bad:
- Versatility. What I mean is the Rowenta Forever Sharp TN6030 enables trimming, edging and safe “shaving” of the beard.
- “Shaving”. The shave you get with this trimmer is not as close as the one you get with a standard safety razor. After shaving you still are able to feel this soft stubble when you pass your hand over the face. But in my opinion it is a great trade for the improved safety of shaving.
Possible weak points:
- The comb attachments. There are five simple comb attachments included in this set: 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 5mm, and 6mm. In my opinion they are quite flimsy and feel plasticky. Of course they get the job done. I had problems with attaching them on the blade and taking them off.
- Lubricate the blades. Unlike the Philips OneBlade shavers, the blades of the Rowenta Forever Sharp trimmers require regular lubrication. To be honest the lubrication takes you like 30 seconds… but yes… you have to remember to do it… on a regular basis 🙂

What are users saying about the Rowenta Forever Sharp TN6030?
The Rowenta Forever Sharp TN6030 generally receives positive feedback from users.
Here's a summary of its strengths and weaknesses based on customer reviews:
Strengths:
- Excellent Battery Life: This is consistently highlighted as a major advantage. Users are impressed with the long operating time (up to 120 minutes, translating to weeks or even months of use for typical grooming) and the quick charge feature, which provides enough power for a single trim in just a few minutes. This makes it very convenient for travel and reduces charging frequency.
- Sharp, Durable, and Self-Sharpening Blades: Customers love that the stainless steel blades are self-sharpening and don't need to be replaced, with Rowenta claiming a 15-year lifespan for the blades. This saves money and hassle compared to trimmers with replaceable heads. The precision of the cut is also frequently praised, allowing for clean lines and consistent trimming.
- Versatile 3-in-1 Functionality: The ability to trim, edge, and "shave" (providing a close stubble without irritation) is a big plus. It's seen as an all-in-one solution for various beard styles, from short stubble to longer beards.
- 100% Waterproof (Wet & Dry Use): The full waterproof design is highly appreciated. It allows for comfortable use in the shower and makes cleaning incredibly easy – simply rinse under running water. This contributes significantly to hygiene and convenience.
- Comfortable and Ergonomic Design: Users find the trimmer lightweight, easy to hold, and maneuver, even when wet, due to its anti-slip grip.
- Travel-Friendly: The compact size, long battery life, and option for USB charging make it an ideal travel companion. The included anti-shock travel case is also a welcome addition.
- Repairability: Rowenta's commitment to providing spare parts for up to 10-15 years is a positive point for many users, indicating a more sustainable approach and potentially longer product lifespan.
- Skin-Friendly "Shave": While it doesn't shave as close as a traditional razor, many users prefer it for avoiding skin irritation and razor burn, making it suitable for sensitive skin.
Weaknesses:
- Limited Comb Attachments/Length Settings: Some users express a desire for more length options beyond the included 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 5mm, and 6mm combs. While the provided lengths cover common styles, those who prefer very specific or longer beard lengths might find the options somewhat limited compared to trimmers with adjustable dials.
- Not a True Close Shave: It's important to reiterate that while it provides a very close trim that feels like a shave, it won't give the perfectly smooth, razor-like finish of a traditional wet shave. This is by design to prevent irritation, but some users might initially expect a closer result.
- Blade Lubrication Requirement: To maintain optimal performance and blade sharpness over time, Rowenta recommends oiling the blades after every few uses (or after each cleaning). While a small bottle of oil is usually included, this extra step can be seen as a minor inconvenience by some.
In summary, the Rowenta Forever Sharp TN6030 is highly praised for its long-lasting performance, battery life, and comfortable, irritation-free trimming experience, especially for those who appreciate the wet & dry functionality.
The main critiques revolve around the limited number of comb lengths and the fact that it's not a "razor-smooth" shave, which are often trade-offs for its core benefits.
