Hatteker RFC-5917 Review

Hatteker RFC-5917
After several uses I rate the Hatteker RFC-5917 at 4.1 out of 5 stars.
Here’s why.
What I like:
- The blades. Actually there are three of them in the Hatteker RFC-5917 set. The T-blade, a standard blade and a narrow one for details. I like all three, they cut pretty close to the skin, sharp, no problems with blades in my case. All three blades require regular lubrication.
- Lightweight. The unit is pretty lightweight and it is easy to operate with the trimmer.
- Good ergonomy. This trimmer produces lower noise compared to most of the trimmers I have tested. It also has low vibration levels, which is a very nice addition to general ease of use.
Not bad:
- Length settings range. This model enables you to set the cutting length from 1 mm to 20 mm, which is enough for bear trimming for sure. In my opinion the Hatteker RFC-5917 is not ideal for efficient hair cutting.
- Battery. The trimmer is equipped with a LI-Ion battery. Full charge takes about 1,5 hours, after which the unit can run for 60 minutes.
Possible weak points:
- Cordless operation only. In case you are used to the trimmers that operate also in the corded mode, the Hatteker RFC-5917 will disappoint you. It only runs cordless.
- Length settings dial. Although the dial wheel is technically working properly, its edges feel “sharp” on fingers. It also turns quite hard, meaning you have to use more force to turn it compared to for example Braun beard trimmers.

Strengths

- Versatile All-in-One Kit: Most models come as a comprehensive grooming set with multiple attachments, such as various guard combs, a detail trimmer, a nose hair trimmer, and a body groomer.
- Cordless Convenience & Good Battery Life: The cordless design and a battery that holds a charge for a full grooming session are frequently highlighted. Many models also feature convenient USB charging.
- Easy to Use and Clean: Attachments are generally reported as being simple to swap, and the waterproof design on many models makes cleaning under a tap straightforward.
Weaknesses
- Long-Term Durability Concerns: The most common criticism relates to the long-term reliability of the trimmer and its parts.
- Flimsy Plastic Components: Some users report that the plastic guard combs can feel cheap and are prone to breaking over time.
- Adequate, Not Professional-Grade Cut: While sufficient for most home use, the cutting precision may not match that of more expensive, premium brands.
- Hair Trapping: A few users have noted that hair can get trapped within the body of the trimmer, making it difficult to clean completely
