Braun BT5260 review

Braun BT5260

I rate the Braun BT5260 at 4,2 uot of 5 stars.

What I like:

  • Great kit for a short beard. Although there's an adjustable comb that lets you set the cutting length up to 20 mm, in my opinion the Braun BT5260 is best for trimming shorter beards up to 10 mm.
  • Practical. The set also contains a separate narrow blade for crafting details on small areas of the beard. Well, I found this blade to be a good tool for removing unwanted hairs from nose and ears 🙂
  • Corded and cordless use. I totally love this feature. I don’t have to worry about the battery dying mid-trim. Moreover if you prefer cordless use there’s an option of so called “Quick Charge”. So you plug the depleted unit into the socket for 5 minutes and the trimmer is able to provide you with one full trim.
  • Good value for the money

Not bad:

  • Fully waterproof. The Braun BT5260 can be rinsed entirely under the tap. I admit I don’t wash trimmers and clippers under running water (even if they are waterproof), but if you are used to this, good for you… this model has you covered.

Possible weak points:

  • Hair cutting. Well, theoretically the Braun BT5260 is able to cut hair, but bear in mind it is not meant for this task. The blade (and the comb attachments) are not wide enough for efficient hair cutting.

What are users saying about the Braun BT5260?

Based on numerous customer reviews and feedback for the Braun BT5260 beard trimmer, here's a summary of its perceived strengths and weaknesses.

Strengths:

  • Precision and Accuracy (39 Length Settings): This is by far the most praised feature. Users love the precision dial and the small 0.5mm step sizes, allowing them to achieve exact stubble, short, medium, or longer beard lengths with confidence. Many find it far superior to trimmers with clip-on combs that can feel flimsy.
  • Sharp Blades / Even Cut: Customers consistently report that the "Lifetime Sharp Blades" deliver a clean, even cut without pulling or tugging, even on thick or long beards. This contributes to a comfortable trimming experience.
  • Battery Life and Quick Charge: The long battery life (up to 100 minutes) and quick 5-minute charge for a single trim are highly appreciated, providing convenience and reliability.
  • Easy to Clean: The washable head and combs make cleaning quick and hygienic, which is a significant convenience for users.
  • Ergonomic Design & Portability: Users describe it as slim, sleek, lightweight, and easy to handle, making it suitable for travel.
  • Good Value for Money: Many users feel that the BT5260 offers excellent features and performance for its price point.

Weaknesses:

  • "Plasticky" Feel/Lightweight: Some users have noted that the trimmer feels a bit "plasticky" or lightweight in hand, which can initially give a perception of less durability compared to heavier, more premium-feeling trimmers. However, this often doesn't detract from its performance.

Tugging on Hairs (Occasional): While generally praised for its smooth cutting, a few users have reported occasional instances of the trimmer tugging hairs, though this seems to be less common than with some other brands or models.
