Braun BT7420 | My Short Review

Braun BT7420
After using the Braun BT7420 several times, I rate this model at 4,5 out of 5 stars.
What I like:
- The blade. This model is equipped with a quality ProBlade. Really sharp, good trimming experience. It doesn’t cut super close to the skin, it leaves a stubble 0,5 mm to 1 mm long. The blade should be regularly lubricated to maintain sharpness and work efficiently.
- Versatility. The Braun BT7420 set includes all attachments that are necessary for beard trimming, creating sharp lines, thanks to the presence of the Gillette shaver you can achieve a perfect shave too.
- Precise length settings. Using 2 adjustable comb attachments you are able to pick your preferred trimming length in quite precise manner, meaning 0,5 mm increments.
- Waterproof. Thanks to this feature, after trimming you can conveniently rinse the whole unit under the tap.
Not bad:
- Adjustable comb attachments. There are two of them with ranges from 1 mm to 10 mm and from 11 mm to 20 mm. They sit on the blade pretty well, maybe some minor looseness which has no impact on the usability I guess.
Possible weak points:
- The 2 fading comb attachments. To be honest I have never found this kind of combs useful. They are available also in some home grade hair clippers.
- Travel case. It is well made, sturdy, elegant, but… so small. It can house the trimmer alone and if you try to fit in the adjustable comb attachment, you’ll have a hard time…

What are users saying about the Braun BT7420?
Strengths
- Sharp & Efficient Blades: Users report the blades are exceptionally sharp, providing a clean, precise cut that often doesn't require multiple passes.
- High Versatility: The trimmer comes with a wide array of attachments, making it suitable for various grooming tasks including beard trimming, hairstyling, and body grooming.
- Precise Length Control: The adjustable dial for selecting trimming length is highly praised for its ease of use and ability to provide fine-tuned results.
- Long Battery Life: Many customers are satisfied with the long-lasting battery, noting it can power through several grooming sessions on a single charge.
- Ergonomic Design: The trimmer is considered lightweight and comfortable to hold, making it easy to maneuver during use.
Weaknesses
- Plastic Construction: The most common criticism is the predominantly plastic build, which some users feel makes the trimmer seem less premium and raises concerns about its long-term durability compared to metal-bodied competitors.
- Attachment Effectiveness: A minority of users found some specific attachments, particularly the smaller detail trimmers, to be less effective than anticipated.
- Not Fully Waterproof: While the trimmer is water-resistant and easy to clean under running water, some customers expressed a desire for a fully waterproof design that would allow for use in the shower.
